Frequently asked questions about relocating to Spain

What does the relocation service include?

Urgent NIE processing, bank account guidance, empadronamiento, social security, rental contract review and school search. We cover all of the Costa del Sol.

How long does legal relocation to Spain take?

The main steps (NIE, bank account, empadronamiento) take 2–4 weeks. Residency or TIE may take an additional 4–8 weeks.

Do I need a NIE before arriving?

Not mandatory, but we recommend processing it before or as soon as you arrive. You need it to open a bank account, sign a rental contract or buy a property.

Can I move to Spain without a job?

Yes. The Non-Lucrative Visa and Digital Nomad Visa allow residency without local employment if you demonstrate sufficient income. The Golden Visa allows residency through investment from €500,000.

What happens to my taxes?

If you reside more than 183 days per year in Spain, you become a Spanish tax resident. The Beckham Law allows a flat 24% rate for 5 years for qualifying immigrants. We recommend tax advice before your move.

How does healthcare work in Spain?

With empadronamiento and social security registration, you access Spanish public healthcare. You can also take out private health insurance (Sanitas, Adeslas, Cigna) for added convenience.

When do you arrive in Spain?

The sooner you contact us, the better prepared we'll be for your arrival.
